Our Community Sponsors
This page is dedicated to celebrating our wonderful Community Sponsors. Each sponsor has enabled us to deliver something special to our playground for our pupils to enjoy on a daily-basis. We are so grateful!
May 2024: Berkeley Homes and their Head of Sustainability, East Thames, Paloma Algarro Resino, generously sponsored the creation of our new, custom-made sandpit, which was delivered by Pallets for Purpose with their Project Lead, Darren Santer, and Master Carpenter Florin Rusu. The structure was built using repurposed wood from recycled pallets, making this a wonderfully green project.
To finish the project, another one of our wonderful community sponsors, Modebest, and their Contracts Manager, Owen Doherty, kindly donated the sand – almost seven tonnes of it! The children absolutely love playing in the sand!
Thank you, Berkeley Homes, Pallets for Purpose, and Modebest!
May 2024 & October 2023: B&Q Greenwich and their fabulous duty manager, Alex Cefai, have twice supported our playground re-greening project with plant donations. In October 2023, our PTA, Friends of Windrush, sponsored seven large round planters for the playground, and B&Q Greenwich sponsored the plants for these planters. In May 2024, B&Q helped us to add greenery by sponsoring a selection of evergreen hedging plants which will grow to form the green walls for the fabulous, newly revamped Green Room. This greenery is making a world of difference!
Thank you, B&Q Greenwich!
May 2024: Carpetright, Charlton, and their wonderful Store Manager, Belinda Loprete, donated this luscious, green grass mat to help us finish our Green Room. This brilliantly green chill-out space is now complete, and our pupils can enjoy a moment of tranquillity on our otherwise buzzling playground!
Thank you, Carpetright!
February 2024: Travis Perkins, Woolwich, with their wonderful Branch Manager Paul Bedden, made a generous donation of timber, plumbing supplies, and small work gloves, all of which form an important part of our OPAL (Outdoor Play And Learning) playtime vision. Our pupils simply love imagining, building and engineering with these materials!
Thank you, Travis Perkins!
October 2023: Lovell & their subcontractor Mitchells helped us get our playground project off the ground back in October 2023. During a Community Day, Lovell employees tidied up Comfort’s Garden & planted spring bulbs and all-year interest plants. They helped us realise our vision for the new “Green Room” by preparing the space, sorting out the brickwork, providing six long planters & trellises to create the walls for the new space, as well as providing compost and plants to get started. They also donated two extra planters to go next to the new 12 m2 stage, which was built on the same day by Mitchells. The wonderful stage is a popular feature on the playground - our pupils love dressing up, acting, and dancing on this fantastic new outdoor stage!
Thank you, Lovell & Mitchells!
